No one cares that you can't make a full time living from your art.
No one cares that technology has segmented audience and made it incredibly difficult for even well made art to achieve critical mass.
No one cares about those sorts of things. This lack of concern doesn't stem from being cruel. It comes from this simple fact:
Many of the things that has made life in the arts hard has also made life, in general, much better.
Would you trade your social media, your smart phone or your on demand media for a world where more people attend the live arts?
Probably not.
Would you trade living in this complicated, global, connected world for a world of few options?
Don't complain about it because in reality you wouldn't change this situation for anything.
There is opportunity here. Make the most of it.
