Millions upon millions of people will NEVER experience your art.
Never.
Ever.
It doesn't matter how skilled you are at your craft or how fantastic your marketing is. The people who will never experience your art, particularly live art, will always far outweigh those who do.
So here's the question I want you to ponder for the weekend:
How will your work impact those who never get to experience it?
How can you touch and mobilize your audience in such a way that they can have a positive impact on those who will never come?
That positive impact is what scales. That's the thing that will cause more and more people to love your art.
Think about how you can make that happen.
A wise woman once said to me: "don't try to attract the never-comes. Focus on the almost-comes."
A lot of our organizations don't have the current audiences we want. But if we can find people who are inclined but turned off, interested but uncertain, we can change in the right ways.
