The problem is that you forget.
You forgot the reason you started the organization.
You lost sight of what caused you to love dance in the first place.
It happens. It happens all the time.
The day to day grind of life in the arts is challenging. The meetings, the paperwork, the politics, it can take the shiny vision that you had and rub it into something dark and unhelpful.
So here's the question:
What do you do to remember?
What people, systems or rituals do you have in place to help you pull out of the grind and refocus (reconnect) with what got you into this life in the first place?
Do you take a retreat?
Is there a book you read?
Is there a person you talk with?
Consider the idea that the reason you are struggling isn't because you're dumb or because the world is corrupt . . . maybe it is simply because you forgot something important.
Make sure you have something in place to help you remember.
