About a week ago, I tried to make the case that you should leverage your own artistic work and stop trying to gain the favor of gatekeepers.
The post went viral. That's cool.
But now it's a week later and I've got to ask the question:
What did you do?
Did you start?
Did you start a big artistic project? A small one? Did you challenge a long held (but sorta useless) assumption within your arts organization?
Did you try to solve a big organizational problem? Did you tackle a bunch of small ones?
Did you reach out to a connect you need? Did you help someone else to connect with someone they needed?
You had seven days. What did you do?
Better yet, how are you going to use the next seven?
Time for a tiny break. No blog post on Monday, see you on Tuesday.
I continued working on a project for a one night club event. It's not my usual thing but I decided to try something new and reach out to a different audience. Last week's post came at a good time for me as I was beginning to run out of steam on it, you inspired me to keep working and do my best! Thank you. I don't know if this event will lead somewhere, but i've enjoyed creating the paintings for it, exploring a new theme and trying something different. It's also inspired me to start another project after i've finished with this one.
