I've said it often . . . in this environment, all options must be on the table.
Every option for producing art, funding art, staffing artistic organizations, etc. must be considered.
Problem is that often people take that statement to mean that "all bad options are on the table".
The good options have to be on the table too.
Maybe you need to cut staff to make the budget work.
Or maybe you can think of a way to pay your staff 20% more as a way of ensuring future loyalty.
Maybe you have to cut the number of artists you show in your gallery in half.
Or maybe you can find a way to aggressively pursue more artists and get their stuff in.
All options mean just that.
ALL OPTIONS.
The horrible ones and the really exciting ones you would have never considered.
